A poem from a Jail Jem

My Friend Jesus

I have walked the darkest path,

I have seen the harshest wrath,

I have been without all hope,

I have lived without a way to cope.

But now I have met my redeemer,

Someone I live for just to please Him,

Let me tell you about my bestest friend,

He is Jesus Christ, He died for sin,

He was brought to earth to deliver our souls,

So death could no longer take its hold,

In a world so dark, that He brings the light,

And promises to help make us right.

He is the bread of life in which I can not loose,

His word is gospel and brings good news.

Even as sinners we may receive salvation,

And through him, the Fathers justification.

Jesus washes us clean, as white as snow,

All you need is faith & a belief that shows,

My hope for eternal life is beyond belief,

This hope is stronger than your toughest grief!

With His death & resurrection,

He brought us all the chance for redemption

I thank my friend Jesus for all He does,

And for giving me the greatest love!
