International Women’s Day March 8th

Yesterday was International Women’s Day. What does that mean to you? Nothing? Something? I actually was supposed to be in Antwerp, Brussels today, on a missions trip, reaching out to women in the red light district, but unfortunately had to cancel that trip. But today I worked on helping a women get her license back, another one get her car back and yet another one receive Christ into her heart.

As women, why not help others get a step up. We have all been hurt enough. Truly what the world needs now is love sweet love. It was sung many years ago, but it is still true today.  If we could just show a little compassion toward each other. A hand up or a foot up. Some kind of up…so many people need the exact kind of help YOU can give.

OK…I am kind of feeling like a flower child from the 60’s…”Make love not war”. If we spend more time helping those who need two things can happen, 1. People will be elevated in life and 2. You will feel fulfilled.

God has a plan for each and every one of us. Your’s is maybe to help someone today, their’s to help someone tomorrow. We can’t just think society can do all the helping everyone, cause that’s not really going so well.  Neither is the government doing so well helping. People need people. And people don’t need to know how much you know, they just need to know you do care.

How do I help you ask? OH…let me count the ways. You could help a neighbor, a friend or your church…or a ministry like mine. I can’t tell you how hard it is to get volunteers who are dependable. That is what can help a ministry to do all its called to do, is having a dependable team to make the dream work.

And when you give…my, my my! God says pressed down shaken together and running back over into your lap! Luke 6:38 That’s how I feel ministry has always been for me.

But back to the beginning…We really need to be women helping women! Nothing is better that seeing a life be put back together!

One time a taught a young girl how to count change. Months later I heard her on a blog talk radio show saying, because the purple lady taught me to count change, I was able to get my first job. Wow.. that really empowered her. We can do so little some times and it be so big in the life of a person.

Think about it…how can you empower others?
