Go for whatever makes you happy! Really? Isn’t that what we’ve already done? We have all done what-ever and made a mess of things.
In 2012 “What-ever” was deemed to be the most irritating word of the year, it is used as a passive-aggressive conversational blocking tool, leaving the responder without a convincing retort. Anything they do or say can simply be blocked by the retort of “whatever”. It is negative. The word “Whatever” is used in any form negatively.
Do whatever makes you happy?? What about your family and friends? What about your schooling? Or your marriage, or your job or children? It is never just about you!
My dad spent his life doing whatever and ended up being married 7 times. Yet he wasn’t happy…he still drank all he wanted even drank himself to death. Not to mention what it did to us as children. We began our lives needing things our dad couldn’t provide.
In my life I did whatever and was married 5 times…drank…and became a drunk…BUT (Holy Ghost but) God! God can take a “whatever” and truly give you a new life. In the end “whatever” ended up as rejection in my life.
He took all of my whatever’s and turned them into good. It say’s in the word of God, that God can take all things that are meant for harm and turn them to the good for those who serve Him in His righteousness. He took my heart of rejection and gave me love for all, even to the point of outcasts.
Never once in the word of God does it say to live like WHATEVER! As a matter of fact it gives us instructions about how to live on purpose.
Check out this scripture: Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Phil 4:8
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men. Col 3:23
But as you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in all earnestness, and in our love for you—see that you excel in this act of grace also. 2 Cor 8:7
So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. 1 Cor 10:31
Whatever you do… do it for God! That’s where you will find joy!
