How is that working out for you so far Marilyn? Bad advice to other women.  It’s hard to believe that Marilyn Monroe was someone anyone took advice from. Oh…I must admit in my younger, drinking, rebellious days, I had pictures and quotes by Marilyn decorating my small one bedroom apartment. She made me feel good about my life and my lifestyle.

She made me bearable to me. Little did I know at the time how far Marilyn and I were both off track. Drinking and partying and living for me. That quote is seriously so selfish and self centered, never considering others or their feelings.

I really wish Marilyn would have known what I know now. She actually might still be alive. How could her life have been different if she had not actually have done everything “SHE” wanted to do? What if she had helped others? What if she knew Jesus? What if she knew how much Jesus loved her? Honestly it makes me sad to think about the fact that she didn’t. I know that God had a good plan for her… her and AnnaNicole and Amy Winehouse …and so many more.

“Marilyn could have been like Mr. President you are married and I love Jesus! Haha.. Let’s save the world!”

I stopped all my selfish life stealing addictions and came to someone who really loved me… stopped going from man to man to try to feel loved. I met the one who designed me for greatness and a good future. Today I want to encourage any woman reading this to choose Jesus! He is the way, the truth and the life! And the scripture goes on to say…No one comes to the Father except through me.  John 14:6

My heart breaks for those still lost in addiction! My prayers cry out for Jesus to save them. I can’t tell you how bad I wanted to meet AnnaNicole…or how many times I prayed for her.

God is able! …in other words: Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us,21to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. Eph 3:20

Stop falling for words that just sound good and find out the truth!

Go for Whatever…Really?

Gor for Whatever...Really?

Go for whatever makes you happy! Really? Isn’t that what we’ve already done? We have all done what-ever and made a mess of things.

In 2012 “What-ever” was deemed to be the most irritating word of the year, it is used as a passive-aggressive conversational blocking tool, leaving the responder without a convincing retort. Anything they do or say can simply be blocked by the retort of “whatever”. It is negative. The word “Whatever” is used in any form negatively.

Do whatever makes you happy?? What about your family and friends? What about your schooling? Or your marriage, or your job or children? It is never just about you!

My dad spent his life doing whatever and ended up being married 7 times. Yet he wasn’t happy…he still drank all he wanted even drank himself to death. Not to mention what it did to us as children. We began our lives needing things our dad couldn’t provide.

In my life I did whatever and was married 5 times…drank…and became a drunk…BUT (Holy Ghost but) God! God can take a “whatever” and truly give you a new life. In the end “whatever” ended up as rejection in my life.

He took all of my whatever’s and turned them into good. It say’s in the word of God, that God can take all things that are meant for harm and turn them to the good for those who serve Him in His righteousness. He took my heart of rejection and gave me love for all, even to the point of outcasts.

Never once in the word of God does it say to live like WHATEVER! As a matter of fact it gives us instructions about how to live on purpose.

Check out this scripture: Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Phil 4:8

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men. Col 3:23

But as you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in all earnestness, and in our love for you—see that you excel in this act of grace also. 2 Cor 8:7

So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. 1 Cor 10:31

Whatever you do… do it for God! That’s where you will find joy!

International Women’s Day March 8th

Yesterday was International Women’s Day. What does that mean to you? Nothing? Something? I actually was supposed to be in Antwerp, Brussels today, on a missions trip, reaching out to women in the red light district, but unfortunately had to cancel that trip. But today I worked on helping a women get her license back, another one get her car back and yet another one receive Christ into her heart.

As women, why not help others get a step up. We have all been hurt enough. Truly what the world needs now is love sweet love. It was sung many years ago, but it is still true today.  If we could just show a little compassion toward each other. A hand up or a foot up. Some kind of up…so many people need the exact kind of help YOU can give.

OK…I am kind of feeling like a flower child from the 60’s…”Make love not war”. If we spend more time helping those who need two things can happen, 1. People will be elevated in life and 2. You will feel fulfilled.

God has a plan for each and every one of us. Your’s is maybe to help someone today, their’s to help someone tomorrow. We can’t just think society can do all the helping everyone, cause that’s not really going so well.  Neither is the government doing so well helping. People need people. And people don’t need to know how much you know, they just need to know you do care.

How do I help you ask? OH…let me count the ways. You could help a neighbor, a friend or your church…or a ministry like mine. I can’t tell you how hard it is to get volunteers who are dependable. That is what can help a ministry to do all its called to do, is having a dependable team to make the dream work.

And when you give…my, my my! God says pressed down shaken together and running back over into your lap! Luke 6:38 That’s how I feel ministry has always been for me.

But back to the beginning…We really need to be women helping women! Nothing is better that seeing a life be put back together!

One time a taught a young girl how to count change. Months later I heard her on a blog talk radio show saying, because the purple lady taught me to count change, I was able to get my first job. Wow.. that really empowered her. We can do so little some times and it be so big in the life of a person.

Think about it…how can you empower others?

Don’t Choose Happiness…Choose Joy! 

Happiness can be taken anytime. For instance, someone gives you a brand new cadallic, you’re HAPPY! You drive it around the corner and someone hits you and its totaled. You LOOSE your happiness, in a hurry. 

Joy however is absolutely different! 

When I came to know Christ all the rules changed. NO, I mean when I really became invested in the relationship. (yes, I said relationship, not religion) Once I realized that Jesus Christ loved me…what? Jesus Christ loves me? Coming from a past of feeling rejected, this was pretty good knowledge. My dad was married 7 times and my mom was married 6. I pretty much learned my lifestyle honestly. I had been married 5 times, when I met Christ. So, this is where I say again all the rules changed. Once I was accepted, I was no longer rejected. To go from always being rejected to being accepted changed my thought pattern, my day, my mood, my happiness to JOY. You can’t steal my joy, it’s secure in my relationship. That Joy actually gives me strength. 

Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.” Neh 8:10

O LORD, the king rejoices in your strength. How great is his joy in the victories you give! Psalms  27:10

The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song. Psalms 28:7

WOW! I am so HAPPY to have this kind of Joy! Even when trials come, I know where I am spending eternity! You can not steal my joy! My joy is my anchor! Knowing Christ died for me is something you have come too late to take from me. I can die a very secure woman. As a matter of fact, I will go so far as to say I believe when I die, a smile from deep joy will come across my face.

I just can’t even tell you how I have preached myself HAPPY this morning! LOL! It’s with true JOY that I say this to you. I am accepted and not rejected. 

Get to know Jesus, get JOY!

My Friend Jesus

 

I have walked the darkest path,

I have seen the harshest wrath,

I have been without all hope,

I have lived without a way to cope.

 

But now I have met my redeemer,

Someone I live for just to please Him,

Let me tell you about my bestest friend,

He is Jesus Christ, He died for sin,

He was brought to earth to deliver our souls,

So death could no longer take its hold,

In a world so dark, that He brings the light,

And promises to help make us right.

He is the bread of life in which I can not loose,

His word is gospel and brings good news.

Even as sinners we may receive salvation,

And through him, the Fathers justification.

Jesus washes us clean, as white as snow,

All you need is faith & a belief that shows,

My hope for eternal life is beyond belief,

This hope is stronger than your toughest grief!

With His death & resurrection,

He brought us all the chance for redemption

Year End Report for One Way Out Ministries

Wow! Words cannot convey the amazing things God has done in One Way Out Ministries helping women out of the sex industry, jail or other life controlling issues including helping those rescued from human traficking this past year. We have truly seen the goodness, mercy and power of God Almighty! As we reflect on the year, we stand amazed that He lets us play a part in changing lives. He anoints us to be His hands extended to the women and girls who have been broken by this world; damaged in such a deep place that only God can touch them where it hurts, heal them and bring them to wholeness.

We have learned in our 15 years of experience, and as one of our girls has indicated in her enclosed testimony, healing and wholeness isn’t attained without support. Support in their day to day life, teaching the Word of God, meeting tangible needs and encouragement along the way. The outcome is living the life they were redeemed to live, glorifying God.

As we mentioned, this year has been amazing! As you know, the heart of One Way Out is our monthly outreach to the strip clubs. Every outreach we are told by at least one girl that she is so glad we came; that knowing someone cares for her was exactly what she needed. They are so surprised that we really love them: that we bring gifts and take time to talk with them. Some have left the business, some have called us for help, some have called for prayer, and some have called for guidance. The point is, when they are ready – they know where to come! God provided opportunities for Pastor Jeanie to speak throughout the year at various outreach events as well as retreats and conferences.

We’ve had 458 women in attendance through our Jail Jems weekly bible study. God loves His gems! Some women have gone on to other facilities to serve long term sentences. When they left Lee County jail, they left as missionaries ready to lead others to Christ! Can you handle more good news? We have just been asked by the Chaplain to hold event type programs every quarter IN THE JAIL!  This will give us opportunity to reach the women who haven’t attended our Saturday evening services. We can only imagine what God will do!

We recently changed the weekly discipleship class into a Life Support class. It was received well and about 30 women have attended. In addition, about 30 more women are mentored one on one. We stay busy about our Father’s Business!

God has done amazing things through Second Chance Upscale Resale as well. We have helped eleven ministries this year by donating household items, clothing, and furniture estimated over $31,000! One particular ministry received 350 bags of clothing for their homeless ministry throughout the year. Praise God!  In addition, we were able to help 51 individuals and families with household items, clothing, and furniture estimated at $6,308. It gets better! We have been able to feed multiple families (including meat) through our food pantry we recently started in partnership with We Care Outreach. God keeps providing and we keep giving! Who can out give God? No one!

There are a few weeks left before we move into 2012.  Will you pray about helping us finish 2011 well and get a good start to 2012? We can use your financial contributions, your prayers and your talents. According to The Free Dictionary (www.thefreedictionary.com), Redeem is defined, “to recover ownership of by paying a specified sum” or “to set free; rescue or ransom.” Jesus Christ is THE REDEEMER, we are His laborers. Please ask God how you can help us reach and redeem His broken treasures. Together, we as the body of Christ can help them live the life Jesus paid for them to live.
